At The Atherstone Surgery, we are committed to making sure that all our patients have equal access to healthcare. We understand that those living with learning disabilities often face additional challenges in accessing the services they need.

Learning disabilities can impact a person’s ability to process information, learn new skills, and communicate effectively, leading to challenges with complex information and independent coping. However, individuals with these disabilities also have unique strengths that should be acknowledged. It’s crucial to address their support needs, as many face significant health inequalities and lack proper healthcare access, which is unjust.

For this reason, we are proud to be a Learning Disability Friendly Practice and strive to help our patients with learning disabilities make the most of their healthcare services. To help with this we have just created a new section on our website devoted to learning disabilities full of useful help and advice.
