Carers Rights Day Is Almost Here!
Carers Rights Day is an initiative that aims to empower unpaid carers by providing them with the information and resources they need to fulfil their caregiving roles effectively. It highlights the importance of recognizing and supporting the contributions of family carers to society. #CarersRightsDay
The countywide campaign will centre around Carers’ Rights Day (23 November) and aims to raise awareness of carers’ rights, especially to those who don’t identify as carers.
Unpaid carers look after, help or support someone who wouldn’t be able to manage everyday life without their help. If you are an unpaid carer, you’re entitled to certain rights that may help you access services, look after your health and wellbeing, or provide vital information and support in looking after your partner, family member, or friend.
Carers Rights Day empowers carers with information and support. It helps them to feel confident asking for what they need and challenge things when their rights are not being met, whether that be that in the workplace or education, in accessing health or social care, when interacting with other professionals or at home.
