We are aware that some patients might be understandably anxious about the Government's recent announcements around the use of face masks in various public settings. 

Gps are unfortunately not in a position to provide individual risk assessments or letters for patients who feel that they should be exempt from wearing a face mask.

Join a COVID-19 clinical trial

The PRINCIPLE trial aims to find treatments that reduce hospital admission and improve symptoms for people with COVID-19. You could be eligible to join if

  • You have had these symptoms for fewer than 15 days:

          o   a continuous new or worsening cough

          o   a high temperature

  • You are aged 50 to 64 with a pre-existing illness
  • You are aged 65 and above
  • Find out more

  WE'RE MAKING IT EASIER FOR YOU TO FIND OUT HOW WE HANDLE YOUR INFORMATION.

A new data privacy law is being introduced this year in the UK.  As a result, we will be publishing a new Privacy Notice on the 25th May 2018, to make it easier for you to find out how we use and protect your information.  We won't be changing the way we use your personal information but the new notice will provide you with additional details such as:

  • Your increased rights in relation to the information we hold about you.
  • How we keep your personal information secure.
  • The types of personal information  The Atherstone Surgery collects about you and how we collect it and use it.
  • The legal grounds for how we use your information.

We are now offering online services.  You will have access to the following any day,  at any time:

You can cancel or change appointments with your own GP, Request repeat prescriptions, see limited, basic information on your records such as medication and allergies.

You can also withdraw from this service at any point it's completely your choice.

You can still contact us in the same ways that you always have this is just an additional service to try and make things easier.

Latest News

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, how you contact us will be different at the moment. This is to limit face-to-face contact whenever possible and help stop the spread of coronavirus

 

Please note;

 

  • Your GP practice is open and if you need to see your GP, please ring us on 01827 713664 or visit our website – our opening hours have not changed.
  • You can also call NHS 111.
  • Please do not come to the surgery unless you have an appointment.
  • If you are waiting for a check-up, please be assured we will be in touch.
  • Appointments are being delivered face-to-face, online and over the telephone.
  • If you are asked to come into the surgery for a face-to-face appointment, please remember to wear a face covering.
  • Measures are in place to keep you safe from infection during your visit to the surgery.

2020 Flu Vaccinations

Please note that people in the 50-64-year old age group will not be vaccinated until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine, and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first.  If you are 50-64 and you are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.

Shingles Trial

Aortic Aneurysm Screening

We have successfully screened 600 men, a terrific 84% of all eligible patients.  If you have any relatives who receive an invitation for AAA screening, please encourage them to attend!

Cervical Screening Test

If you are overdue your smear please contact the Surgery to arrange an appointment with the Practice Nurse.
